Good times, good people and great fun awaits you at Road to the Rodeo! We are a Non-Profit Organization that is bridging the gap between fun shows and rodeo. Youth is a time for learning, a time for finding out what your truly passionate about and what your not. Unlike most sports, Rodeo is an extremely expensive sport to break in to. In order to be competitive, in most cases you have to spend enormous amounts of money on a horse not including boarding, vet costs, ect. This keeps many potential greats from entering into the sport. Our goal is to create a lower budget training ground that realizes the potential and discovers the passion in order to help grow our sport.
This is where your road begins. Join us @ 3 Pm, the last Saturday of every month. Located at the Henderson County Fairgrounds, we are a monthly western horse show that is dedicated to growing talented, well rounded young cowgirls and cowboys. Our goal is to provide a positive, Christ centered enviroment that encourages riders of all ages and skill levels to compete with and learn from each other. By providing a variety of racing, action packed, speed and agility events, we challenge our riders and give them the much needed saddle time to grow their talents, skills, confidence and future Rodeo careers . From our first time competitors to our seasoned veterans, there are classes for everyone!
None of this would be possible without your support! By providing a mixture of Rodeo and non-Rodeo, high action speed and agility events, a variety of workshops, games, merchandise, bounce houses, and of course, great food, there will be something for everyone to enjoy!
We offer Barrels, Poles, Flags, Extreme Trail, Dualling Keyhole, Bash N" Splash, Freestyle, and Calf Roping events. Classes start with our Buckaroos for kids 10 & under, followed by our Whippersnappers, ages 11-18, the Cowpokes ages 19 and above and finally our money class, the Smokin' Saddles, bringing added thrill & excitement to the show. Our Smokin' Saddle Classes have a high payout, with 80% of the entry fees going back to the riders, much more than most shows in the area.
Events may change as we work out the details during the off season.
